Iranians celebrate NoRooz, the Persian New Year in Portland

Join Bahram and Davood this Thursday from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. and celebrate the traditional Iranian New Year "NoRooz".
NoRooz, or "New Day" is the start of the Iranian new year around the world at the exact time of the Spring Equinox, Portland time Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 9:57:07 A.M. This exact second is called "Saal Tahvil". NoRooz with its uniquely Iranian characteristics has been celebrated for over 2000 years and is deeply rooted in the rituals and traditions of the Zoroastrian. This was the religion of the ancient Persians before the advent of Islam in 7th century A.D.
