Reports from the 3rd US Social Forum in Philadelphia and San Jose

KBOO Station Co-Managers, Mic Crenshaw and Monica Beemer, who have just returned from the 3rd US Social Forum, and the first in multiple locations, will report out from their experiences in Philadelphia and San Jose as well as interview people’s movement leaders from across the country who participated in US Social Forum 3! 

Guests include:
Rob Robinson, co-founder of the Take Back the Land Movement and a staff volunteer at the National Economic and Social Rights Initiative in NYC
Cheri Honkala, anti-poverty advocate, co-founder of the Kensington Welfare Rights Union and co-founder and National Coordinator of the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign
Rose Brewer, US Social Forum National Planning Committee and Gender Justice Work Group and professor of African American and Women Studies at the University of Minnesota;
Shamako Noble, hip hop artist, cultural organizer and political theorist from San Jose, California.He was is the President  of Hip Hop Congress. Shamako was also the  Racial and Social Justice Organizer for the Jill Stein/Cheri Honkala campaign (the Green candidates for President and Vice President). As of 2014 he is the Secretary of Culture in the Green Shadow Cabinet.[1] Shamako Noble is an artist, organizer and author that is based out of the Bay Area in California
Edgar Franks, is the Coordinator of the Civic Engagement Project titled Community To Community. Community 2 Community works on Immigrant rights, food justice and farm workers rights in Rural Washington.
