Every hour we feature a block of tracks from this week's Featured Goddesses. Such as:
Fanny (later spin-uff bandFanny Walked The Earth) - Founded by Sisters June Millington (Guitarist) and Jean Millington (bass), Fanny recorded several albums from 1969-1975 until officially disbanning. The Millington Sisters formed a spin-off group (Fanny Walked The Earth) in 2018 with drummer Brie Howard-Darling. Fanny had two hits in the Billboard Hot 100 and influenced future all-woman bands like The Go-Go's, The Bangles, and the Runaways.
The Clingers (a.k.a. The Clinger Sisters) - One of the first rock-and-roll "girl bands", the Clinger sisters began as a barbershop quartet in 1956 until eventually becoming a rock band in the 1960s, when they decided to learn and play their own instruments. They toured through the late 60's and made several TV appearances (Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour). The group stopped performing in the early 70s, but continued to work on individual projects. Peggy Clinger performed as the singing voice for 'Kitty Jo' on the Hanna Barbera cartoon "Cattanooga Cats". The Clinger Sisters are Patsy (drums), Debra (bass), Melody (guitar) and Peggy (keyboard)
The Feminine Complex - A 60's all female garage rock band, the Feminine Complex got together as high school students in the Nashville area. They toured in and around Nashville in the late 60's, recorded several singles, and received airplay on some local radio stations. They released only one album in 1969, "Livin' Love". The Feminine Complex are: Mindy Dalton (guitar and vocals), Judi Griffith (vocals and percussion), Lana Napier (drums), Pame Stephens (keyboards) and Jean Williams (bass).
