Hospital-based addiction consult services have been described as an emerging model of care for hospitalized patients who may have a substance use disorder. To learn more about ACS I spoke recently with Doctor Shawn Cohen, an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine and lead author of an article entitled “Hospital-Based Methadone and Buprenorphine Initiation Practices by Addiction Consult Services,” which was published August 7 in the journal JAMA Network Open.
