This episode of Pastures of Plenty mixes an assortment of folk music styles and topics. For example, Shannon McNally sings "Let’s Go Home" and later Martyn Joseph sings "Here Come the Young". There’s a sampling from Levon Helm’s 2008 Grammy-winning Best Traditional Folk Album. Oh yeah, I almost forgot the vintage Joni Mitchell "Court and Spark." Like I said, a variety. The final set deals with Freedom, the long-time American Dream, featuring Odetta’s "Freedom Trilogy" and "The Battle Cry of Freedom" from the Pa’s Fiddle 2012 concert album.
Please listen to the KBOO early morning folk music strip every Monday through Friday, 5:30 till 7:00. There’s also a folk music show - Movin’ On - Fridays after the noon news on KBOO. Thanks for supporting your community radio station!

Buffy Sainte-Marie?
I was surprised to hear you play Buffy Sainte-Marie's song "Now that the Buffalo's Gone" on the show this morning. I can see an argument can be made for playing her songs for their artistic merit, but given the fact that she was shown clearly to not be Native American, playing one that takes the first-person point of view AS a Native American, is not defensible.
