This episode of Pastures of Plenty on March 11th will focus on folk music from the 1960s: the mid-twentieth century folk revival. No new releases, just the old stuff, kinda like me.
The show opens with The Kingston Trio "Tijuana Jail" and ends with Odetta "900 Miles." If you hang on for the entire hour and a half you’ll be able to hear many of the great musicians of that era, including The Brothers Four, Woody Guthrie, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Peter, Paul and Mary, Simon and Garfunkel, The Seekers, Lead Belly, Carolyn Hester, Richard Dyer-Bennet, Phil Ochs, Brownie McGhee and Sonny Terry, and others. I can’t remember them all. Maybe you could, take the challenge. Anyway, I hope you’ll enjoy this nostalgic look back at some of our musical history.
