Cecil and Celeste welcome writer and filmmaker David Walker to KBOO.  He's curated movies for the The Portland Black Film Festival which aims to offer diverse perspectives and stories in an art form all too often dominated by white filmmakers. The festival features films which showcase the cinematic achievements of African American stars and filmmakers and examine the black experience in America.

David Walker is known for work in comics and graphic novels,  including work for Marvel Comics (Luke CageOccupy AvengersPower Man & Iron FistNighthawk, and more), DC Comics (Cyborg), Dark Horse (Number 13Tarzan on the Planet of the Apes), Dynamite Entertainment (ShaftRed SonjaVampirella, and more), BOOM Studios (Planet of the Apes), and Lion Forge (Superb). He's the author of the Young Adult novel Super Justice Force, the first installment in The Adventures of Darius Logan. He's also creator of the pop culture ‘zine, BadAzz MoFo, which lives on in the form of his blog(also called BadAzz MoFo).
