Graphic novelist Craig Thompson talks about storytelling and his books Blankets, Habibi, and Carnet Du Voyage with Words and Pictures host S.W. Conser on KBOO Community Radio
Graphic novelist Craig Thompson talks about the inspirations behind his comics stories

In this never-before-aired informal conversation with Words and Pictures host S.W. Conser, award-winning graphic novelist Craig Thompson shares his thoughts about storytelling, artistic discipline, cultural exchange, faith, and the fight for a more humane world.

From his childhood in rural Wisconsin to early artistic experiments in Portland to worldwide acclaim, Craig's personal story has informed a rich array of characters and their struggles, heartbreaks, and resilience in such books as Goodbye Chunky Rice, Blankets, and Habibi.  His travels in Europe and North Africa brought him together with the international comics community, heightened his advocacy for environmental justice and human rights, and inspired the comics travelogue Carnet Du Voyage.
